The surgery will be closed from 1.00pm – 2.00pm Monday to Friday to allow for staff communication and lunch break.
Monday morning surgeries have been allocated for shielded patients ONLY to be seen. The surgery door is closed to all other enquiries during this time to protect these patients. Please do not come to the surgery to collect prescriptions until after 2.00pm. Reception telephone lines do remain open.
Saturday morning surgeries over the next 3 months have currently been postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Tuesday Early Morning surgery have also been postponed until further notice.
Mendip Country Practice is part of the Mendip Network, which comprises of 5 GP Surgeries (MCP, Oakhill Surgery, Beckington Practice, Shepton Mallet Grove Surgery and Shepton Mallet Park Surgery).
Between these 5 practices we will provide evening appointments one day per week each on a rotation, from 6.30pm to 8.00pm. Many of these appointments will be telephone consultation, so there is no need for you to travel.
We will continue to open at 7.30am every Tuesday to provide early morning appointments.
We will however open occasionally on a Saturday morning in rotation with the other surgeries in our Network for pre-bookable routine appointments. On these days the Dispensary or phone lines will not be open. Please see our website or pick up a leaflet from Reception for opening dates and times.
Mendip Country Practice every Tuesday morning 7.30am – 8.00am and Saturday mornings 8.30 am – 10.30am
Please note our normal opening hours remain unchanged. Monday to Friday 8.00am - 6.30pm. We close 1.00 - 1.200pm for lunch however the telephone lines remain open.
If you require urgent medical assistance or advice in the evenings, weekends and on bank holidays there are a range of services available to you in East Mendip:
NHS 111 NHS 111 provides urgent medical help or advice to patients between the hours of 18:30 and 08:00, Monday to Friday and at weekends and on Bank Holidays. You may be asked to attend a local centre to see the GP.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
